ABOUT US
Our Mission
Fiddlehead School of Arts & Sciences is a free, public charter school. Our mission is to unfold the potential of every child within a respectful and loving culture, providing authentic, meaningful experiences that spark a sense of wonder and a deep love of learning.
We believe in fostering the interconnectedness of all things, offering an interdisciplinary approach to both the arts and sciences. Our goal is to create happy, vibrant learners who shape their own lives and contribute to the world around them. With an inquiry-based model, children at Fiddlehead not only excel in literacy, mathematics, science, visual and performing arts, and Spanish, but also develop essential 21st-century skills—critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, and compassion.
Our diverse community is one where every student, family, and employee is respected, and we actively work to create an environment of safety, inclusivity, and acceptance. Since 2017, we’ve built a foundation for diversity, updating forms, displaying visible signs of welcome, and offering professional development for our staff to create an inclusive climate. We’re committed to educating ourselves and our community, addressing bias, and using inclusive language. This ongoing work ensures that every member of our community feels safe to express themselves, explore the world, and grow into compassionate global citizens.
